Our History

Western Industrial Parts, Inc was officially founded in June of 1968 by Milton B. Anderson. (March 15, 1938 – January 7th, 2013), Businessman, Husband & Father, Jokester, and a modern day “George Bailey”.

In 1960, just after getting married to his wife Lucia J. Baak, Milt began a long (and successful) career in the fastener, fittings, and industrial products profession. Eager to launch out on his own, he started a small fastener business out of his home garage. Nearly everyday, Milt would make the trip over the hill from Sacramento, California into Reno, Nevada and sell product out of the back of his red 1966 Chevrolet Impala station wagon. By 1970, the family of five (soon to be six) officially moved to Reno to settle down and lay their roots.

Milt’s dedication, paired with his previous selling experience and fastener knowledge, soon expanded his garage startup into a small family company with a warehouse and office space.

Todays’ WIPI is survived by Milt’s son, Craig M. Anderson as owner. The company was founded upon the values of hard work, family, trust, and quality which has been carried on to the current generation of WIPI. Check out our team page to meet the people in charge of carrying out the mission and vision of Western Industrial Parts.
